Last year was tough for Williams, with a decently-quick car, which was tricky to drive at high speeds. The result of this was a bruising series of crashes which caused the team to fall back in the Constructors’ Championship - and in the development race, because of the pressure put on the team’s production departments. This is one of the areas where Williams has been working hard to catch up from where the team was left at the end of the Williams family’s ownership. Huge investment was needed and that process is ongoing.
