Italian nobleman Antonio Brivio, a Grand Prix racer and Targa Florio winner of the Thirties, is widely recognised as the man who first suggested the formation of a pukka F1 World Championship in 1949. Three-quarters of a century after the first race, here at Silverstone on May 13th, 1950, he would have been amazed at the way his vision has developed.
