Practice and qualifying threw up several surprises, not least that the order many had expected of the newcomers was almost directly reversed, as Isack Hadjar proved the fastest ahead of Jack Doohan and Gabriel Borteloto, while Kimi Antonelli, Liam Lawson and Ollie Bearman all met with disappointment.
