These days there are only a handful of Belgians working full-time in Formula 1. The last Belgian driver in Grand Prix racing was Stoffel Vandoorne between 2016 and 2018 and before that, albeit briefly, Jérôme d’Ambrosio in 2011–2012. It is nearly 35 years since a Belgian last won a Grand Prix.
